Get ready for a time-traveling, double-crossing, ass-kicking comedy that's as bonkers as its title. Hulu has dropped the first trailer for Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, a new R-rated action-comedy from 20th Century Studios that combines gangster mayhem with science fiction in the most delightful way .
The film, written and directed by BenDavid Grabinski (Happily, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off), stars Vince Vaughn in dual roles, James Marsden, and Eiza González in a high-concept mashup that's being described as Back to the Future meets John Wick with a dash of Tarantino-style flair .

What's In the Trailer?
The newly released trailer sets the tone immediately, with Vaughn's future version of Nick giving Marsden's character Mike a crash course in chloroforming someone—specifically, a different version of Nick from the past .
"Open the glove compartment," a stern Future Nick instructs Mike. What follows is a chaotic sequence involving fire extinguishers, confused gangsters, and plenty of R-rated mayhem. When Past Nick wakes up dazed and asks Mike what he's doing, Marsden's character deadpans: "This was your idea!" .
The trailer reveals that Future Nick has traveled back in time to "right some wrongs," but there's a complication: the person most likely to screw everything up is his past self . As Nick explains, "The first time that we went through tonight, Mike died. But that's why I'm back. We get one chance to fix it" .
Oh, and there's also a cannibal assassin named The Baron, played by the always-welcome Stephen Root, who appears to have killed Mike in the original timeline .

The Plot
According to the official synopsis, the film is "a hilarious, stylized, R-rated action-comedy about two gangsters and the woman they love trying to survive the most dangerous night of their lives. As if that wasn't enough, there's one wild ingredient added to the mix: a time machine" .
The story follows gangsters Mike (Marsden) and Nick (Vaughn) and Alice (González), the woman they both love, as they navigate a single chaotic night that involves time travel, multiple versions of Nick, and enough twists to keep audiences guessing .

The Cast
Beyond the lead trio, the film boasts an absolutely stacked ensemble cast :
Keith David (The Thing, Community)
Jimmy Tatro (22 Jump Street, Scream 7)
Stephen Root (Barry, Office Space) as the aforementioned cannibal assassin
Lewis Tan (Deadpool 2, Mortal Kombat)
Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog trilogy)
Emily Hampshire (Schitt's Creek)
Arturo Castro (The Menu, Road House)

The Creative Team
BenDavid Grabinski brings a unique sensibility to the project. After making the Hollywood Black List with his unproduced screenplays in the 2000s, he broke out with the 2021 film Happily and served as creator of Netflix's Scott Pilgrim Takes Off animated series . He also worked on the 2019 revival of Are You Afraid of the Dark? .
The film is produced by Andrew Lazar (American Sniper) and executive produced by Richard Middleton and Vanessa Humphrey, with music by Joseph Trapanese and cinematography by Larry Fong .

Release Details
Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice will receive its world premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival 2026 on March 14, screening at the historic Paramount Theatre in Austin as part of the festival's official lineup .
Following its festival debut, the film will be available for streaming exclusively on Hulu (and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers) starting March 27, 2026 . In the UK, it will stream exclusively on Disney+ .

Early Buzz
The trailer has generated significant excitement, with many praising the film's willingness to embrace its absurd premise. The combination of Vaughn's comedic timing, Marsden's charm, and González's action credentials (she starred in Ambulance, Baby Driver, and Godzilla vs. Kong) has positioned the film as one of the most anticipated streaming releases of early 2026 .

If Grabinski can land the plane, this could establish him as a bold new voice in genre filmmaking .
