About this video
Eat (2014) is a disturbing body horror drama thriller directed and written by Jimmy Weber, following Novella McClure, a struggling Los Angeles actress whose frustration and personal struggles take a horrifying turn when she develops a compulsion to eat her own flesh. As she desperately tries to conceal her condition from the people around her, her physical and emotional deterioration becomes increasingly difficult to control.
Starring Meggie Maddock as Novella McClure, Ali Francis as Candice, and Jeremy Make as Dr. Simon, Eat blends psychological drama, horror, and unsettling body-horror elements with a story centered on isolation, self-destruction, failed ambitions, and the pressures surrounding a struggling performer. The film also explores Novella's complicated relationships as she considers whether a connection with Dr. Simon can help her confront her destructive behavior.
Released in 2014, Eat has a runtime of approximately 92 minutes and is an English-language film from the United States. Its combination of psychological tension, graphic body horror, dark themes, and an unconventional premise makes it a distinctive entry in independent horror cinema.
