About this video
Peeples (2013) is a romantic comedy directed and written by Tina Gordon, starring Craig Robinson as Wade Walker, Kerry Washington as Grace Peeples, and David Alan Grier as Grace’s demanding father, Virgil Peeples. The film follows Wade as he unexpectedly crashes the Peeples family’s annual reunion in the Hamptons with a marriage proposal for Grace, only to discover that winning over her wealthy and complicated family will be far more difficult than he imagined.
Set against an eventful family weekend, Peeples blends romance, comedy, relationship drama, and chaotic family dynamics as Wade tries to make a lasting impression on Grace’s parents while confronting the secrets, tensions, and unconventional personalities within the Peeples household. S. Epatha Merkerson, Tyler James Williams, Diahann Carroll, Melvin Van Peebles, Kali Hawk, Kimrie Lewis-Davis, and Malcolm Barrett round out the ensemble cast.
With its mix of romantic complications, awkward introductions, family expectations, and heartfelt moments, Peeples offers a lighthearted story about love, acceptance, honesty, and finding your place in someone else’s family. The 2013 PG-13 comedy runs approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes.
