About this video
Heavenly Forest (2006), also known as Tada, Kimi o Aishiteru, is a Japanese romance drama directed by Takehiko Shinjō, starring Aoi Miyazaki, Hiroshi Tamaki, and Meisa Kuroki. The film follows Makoto Segawa, a shy university student and amateur photographer, whose life changes after meeting the unusual and endearing Shizuru Satonaka.
Makoto and Shizuru develop a close friendship through their shared passion for photography, frequently exploring a forest near their university and capturing intimate moments with their cameras. Their relationship becomes increasingly complicated when Makoto develops feelings for another student, Miyuki Toyama, creating a moving story about friendship, unspoken love, and emotional discovery.
Based on Takuji Ichikawa’s novel and adapted for the screen by Kenji Bando, Heavenly Forest blends romance, drama, photography, youth, friendship, and bittersweet emotion. Its story explores the depth of first love and the memories that remain long after people and moments have changed. The film was released in Japan on October 28, 2006, with a runtime of approximately 116 minutes.
