About this video
Roadie (1980) is an American musical comedy directed by Alan Rudolph and starring Meat Loaf as Travis W. Redfish, a young Texas truck driver with a natural talent for electronic equipment who lands a job as a roadie for a traveling rock-and-roll show. Released in 1980, the film blends comedy, music, romance, and the energetic world of touring rock entertainment.
As Travis joins the tour, he finds himself surrounded by musicians, performers, and the fast-moving backstage world of live music while pursuing Lola Bouilliabase, played by Kaki Hunter. The cast also features Art Carney as Corpus C. Redfish, along with appearances by major music figures including Alice Cooper, Roy Orbison, Hank Williams Jr., and Debbie Harry.
With its distinctive 1980s atmosphere, rock-and-roll setting, colorful characters, and Meat Loaf in the leading role, Roadie offers a lively look at life behind the scenes of a touring music show. The film runs for approximately 105–106 minutes and was released in the United States on June 13, 1980.
