About this video
Varg Veum - Svarte Får (2011), also known internationally as Black Sheep, is a Norwegian crime thriller and the eighth film in the Varg Veum series. Directed by Stephan Apelgren, the film follows private detective Varg Veum as a troubling case involving his girlfriend Karin’s missing sister leads him into a dangerous world of prostitution, drug dealing, criminal networks, and murder.
As Veum investigates, the case becomes increasingly complex, connecting a present-day crime with an earlier fatal fire and a mysterious death in Bergen. His determination to uncover the truth puts him at odds with dangerous criminals while police chief Hamre attempts to contain the consequences of Veum’s investigation. The story is based on Gunnar Staalesen’s novel Svarte får and is set against the distinctive atmosphere of Bergen, Norway.
Trond Espen Seim stars as Varg Veum, alongside Lene Nystrøm as Karin, Bjørn Floberg as Hamre, Alexander Karim as Alexander Latoor, Jakob Oftebro as Asbjørn Søvold, and Kjærsti Odden Skjeldal as Siren. With its blend of mystery, crime investigation, suspense, and Nordic noir elements, Varg Veum - Svarte Får is a strong entry in the Norwegian detective film series.
