About this video
The Eligible Bachelor (1993) is a feature-length Sherlock Holmes mystery television film starring Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes and Edward Hardwicke as Dr. John Watson. Directed by Peter Hammond, the story follows Holmes as he investigates the disappearance of an English aristocrat’s American bride, uncovering a case filled with secrets, suspicion, and unsettling clues.
Based on Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes story “The Noble Bachelor,” the film brings the legendary detective into a troubling investigation when Hatty Doran disappears shortly after her wedding to Lord Robert St. Simon. As Holmes examines the circumstances surrounding the missing bride, disturbing dreams and details from the groom’s past add another layer of mystery to the case.
Featuring Jeremy Brett, Edward Hardwicke, Simon Williams, Paris Jefferson, Joanna McCallum, Geoffrey Beevers, Anna Calder-Marshall, Heather Chasen, and Rosalie Williams, The Eligible Bachelor combines classic detective storytelling, Victorian atmosphere, crime, mystery, and suspense. This 1993 Sherlock Holmes adaptation is presented here in 1080p quality for viewers seeking a classic British mystery experience.
