About this video
Steel Dawn (1987) is a post-apocalyptic action adventure sci-fi film starring Patrick Swayze as Nomad, a lone warrior crossing a harsh desert landscape in a world struggling to survive. Directed by Lance Hool and written by Doug Lefler, the movie combines survival, combat, frontier-style drama and futuristic wasteland atmosphere.
When Nomad encounters settlers protecting a valuable water supply, he becomes caught in a dangerous conflict with a violent gang led by Damnil. As tensions rise, the struggle over water turns into a fight for survival, security and control. Lisa Niemi plays Kasha, with Anthony Zerbe as Damnil, alongside Christopher Neame, Brion James and John Fujioka in supporting roles.
Known for its desert setting and post-apocalyptic themes, Steel Dawn blends action and adventure with a stark vision of a civilization rebuilt around scarce resources. Patrick Swayze's Nomad brings a solitary, battle-hardened presence to the story as he is drawn deeper into the settlers' struggle.
