About this video
Miami Blues (1990) is a stylish crime comedy directed by George Armitage, starring Alec Baldwin, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Fred Ward. The film follows Frederick J. Frenger Jr., a reckless ex-con who arrives in Miami and quickly becomes caught up in theft, violence, deception, and an increasingly complicated relationship with a young college student.
Blending crime, dark comedy, and neo-noir elements, Miami Blues captures the unpredictable energy of early-1990s Miami while focusing on Frenger’s impulsive schemes and the determined detective trying to track him down. Alec Baldwin leads the film with a charismatic, volatile performance, while Jennifer Jason Leigh and Fred Ward anchor the story with memorable supporting roles.
With its distinctive characters, sharp humor, criminal underworld setting, and offbeat storytelling, Miami Blues is a notable 1990 crime film for viewers looking for a mix of comedy, suspense, and noir atmosphere.
