About this video
The Forger (2014) is a crime thriller and art-heist drama directed by Philip Martin, starring John Travolta, Christopher Plummer, and Tye Sheridan. Travolta plays Ray Cutter, a skilled art forger who arranges an early release from prison so he can spend time with his ailing son, Will. His freedom comes with a dangerous price: a crime syndicate demands that Ray carry out one final job.
Working with his father Joseph Cutter and his son, Ray must forge a Claude Monet painting, steal the original from a museum, and replace it with a replica convincing enough to escape detection. As the plan unfolds, The Forger blends museum-heist suspense, crime, family drama, loyalty, and the pressure of a criminal past. With its focus on art forgery, a high-stakes museum robbery, and the complicated bond between father and son, the film offers a tense character-driven take on the modern heist story.
