About this video
Lost River (2014) is a dark, atmospheric fantasy mystery thriller written and directed by Ryan Gosling. Set in a virtually abandoned city marked by decay and forgotten secrets, the film follows Billy (Christina Hendricks), a single mother struggling to save her childhood home and keep her family together, while her teenage son Bones (Iain De Caestecker) becomes drawn into a mysterious world hidden beneath the surface of Lost River.
As Billy is pulled toward a strange and macabre underworld, Bones investigates the origins of the dying city and discovers a secret underwater town connected to its past. His curiosity leads him into an increasingly dangerous journey where family, survival, love, fear, and the city’s mysterious history become intertwined.
Featuring Saoirse Ronan as Rat, Matt Smith as Bully, Eva Mendes as Cat, and Ben Mendelsohn as Dave, Lost River blends fantasy, mystery, thriller, psychological drama, and dark fairy-tale elements into a visually distinctive story. Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut creates an eerie world filled with unsettling imagery, strange characters, abandoned landscapes, and supernatural undertones. The 1080p presentation brings added clarity to the film’s atmospheric cinematography and distinctive visual style.
