About this video
The Tenants Downstairs (2016) is a Taiwanese psychological horror thriller that transforms an ordinary apartment building into a disturbing world of voyeurism, manipulation, obsession, and hidden desires. Directed by Adam Tsuei, this dark and unsettling film explores the sinister secrets behind closed doors, where seemingly ordinary tenants become part of a disturbing experiment driven by curiosity and control.
Inheriting an apartment building, a mysterious landlord rents rooms to a carefully selected group of tenants, each hiding personal secrets, complicated relationships, and troubling desires. Using concealed surveillance cameras installed throughout the property, he secretly observes their private lives. What begins as voyeuristic curiosity gradually becomes a disturbing game of psychological manipulation as he intervenes in their lives, pushing the residents toward increasingly dangerous confrontations.
Starring Simon Yam, Lee Kang-sheng, Ivy Shao, and Xing Li, The Tenants Downstairs explores voyeurism, obsession, human psychology, forbidden desires, and the darker side of human nature. Based on the novel by Giddens Ko, this Taiwanese film combines psychological suspense, crime, black comedy, and shocking twists in a tense story where nobody's secrets remain safe.
