About this video
Hangar Rojo (2026), also known internationally as The Red Hangar, is a Spanish-language political thriller set in Santiago, Chile, during the military coup of September 11, 1973. Directed by Juan Pablo Sallato, this historical drama explores the devastating consequences of military repression, the struggle between obedience and conscience, and the moral choices faced by people caught in a violent turning point in history.
The story follows Captain Jorge Silva, a former head of Air Force Intelligence who is ordered to transform the Air Force Academy, where he trains young cadets, into a detention and torture center. As political prisoners arrive and the atmosphere becomes increasingly brutal, Silva must confront his past, his beliefs, and the dangerous consequences of resisting orders. His conflict reveals the human cost of authoritarian power and the impossible choices between self-preservation and moral responsibility.
Starring Nicolás Zárate, Boris Quercia, Marcial Tagle, Catalina Stuardo, and Arón Hernández, Hangar Rojo combines historical drama with intense political suspense inspired by real events surrounding Chile's 1973 military coup. Its stark black-and-white presentation reinforces the film's unsettling atmosphere and powerful examination of power, repression, and human dignity.
This 1080p WEBRip release with 5.1 audio is suited to viewers interested in historical political thrillers, Chilean cinema, military dramas, and films exploring dictatorship, resistance, and the consequences of moral choices.
