Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead (2014) is a Norwegian-Icelandic action horror comedy directed by Tommy Wirkola and serving as the sequel to Dead Snow (2009). The film brings back Vegar Hoel as Martin, the battered survivor of the first movie, and throws him into another outrageous battle against an army of undead Nazi soldiers led by the relentless Herzog, played by Ørjan Gamst. Combining zombie horror, extreme gore, dark comedy, action and absurdist humor, Dead Snow 2 deliberately embraces the wild, over-the-top spirit of its predecessor while expanding the scale of the zombie conflict. The movie runs for approximately 100 minutes and was released in 2014, with the original Norwegian title Død snø 2.

The story begins with Martin already pushed beyond the limits of survival. After the horrifying events of the first Dead Snow, he is still being pursued by Herzog and his supernatural Nazi forces, while attempting to understand the strange consequences of his previous encounter with the undead. His situation becomes even more bizarre when he finds himself connected to a group of American zombie enthusiasts who are far more prepared to believe his story than ordinary people would be. Together, they discover unconventional ways to fight the undead and confront a zombie army whose ambitions are much larger than a simple massacre. The film's central conflict therefore becomes an outrageous clash between Martin, his unlikely allies and Herzog's resurrected forces.

What makes Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead distinctive is its unapologetic mixture of horror and comedy. Tommy Wirkola pushes the concept into increasingly outrageous territory, using graphic zombie violence, dark jokes, bizarre situations and exaggerated action sequences as part of the film's intentionally chaotic personality. Martin Starr appears as Daniel, while Jocelyn DeBoer plays Monica and Ingrid Haas plays Blake, joining Vegar Hoel, Ørjan Gamst and returning performers in the expanding ensemble. The production was filmed in Iceland and used both English and Norwegian, giving the sequel an international horror-comedy character while retaining its Scandinavian identity.

For viewers searching for Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead, Dead Snow 2, Død snø 2, Nazi zombie movies, Scandinavian horror, zombie comedy, gore horror or action-packed undead movies, this sequel delivers a deliberately excessive combination of all those elements. It continues the story of Martin and Herzog from Dead Snow while introducing new characters, new zombie battles and a much larger confrontation. With Tommy Wirkola's distinctive direction, Vegar Hoel's returning lead performance, Ørjan Gamst's memorable zombie antagonist and a supporting cast that includes Martin Starr, Jocelyn DeBoer, Ingrid Haas and Derek Mears, Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead stands firmly in the cult horror-comedy tradition.
